A psychiatrist attends a seminar in Germany and surprised the audience by saying that he was treating his patients by making them wash their face 5 times a day and within a short period of time the treatment started to have an effect. They started a recovery from their illness. At the end of the speech, the doctor said, “I confess that fewer Muslims suffer from depression as they wash their hands, face, and feet many times in a day by performing WUZU.”

Blood Pressure:-
A heart specialist says with the importance that those who have high blood pressure should be advised to perform Wuzu. A Muslim doctor says, “The best cure for depression is Wuzu.” Western doctors treat their patients by placing water on some parts of their body, which is just like wuzu.

Benefits of Washing Hands:-
In Wuzu the hands are washed first and there are many benefits.
If the hands are not washed during the day, there is a possibility of getting many types of skin diseases:-Heat spots Itchy skin Bad skin Change in the skin color, etc.
When we wash our hands, water falls from the tips of our fingers and create a circle around our hand and due to this, our inner electrics come into motion, which makes our hands more beautiful

Washing the Mouth:-
By washing the mouth and using a Miswaak, the bacteria will be removed. If the mouth is not cleaned, one can be affected by the following illnesses:-

One of the first sign of aids is the swelling of the mouth
Edges of the mouth splitting
Moniliasis of the mouth and lips,
The mouth becomes sore etc.

The one who gargles water, will not get tonsillitis and he will be saved from many throat diseases including throat cancer.

Washing the nose:-
The lungs need air free from pollution and it should contain 80% moisture and should be more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit. To attain this type of air, Allah Subhana’wa’ta’ala has blessed us with a nose. It makes the air moist, the nose creates a quarter of a gallon of moisture and the hair in the nostrils stops dirt going inside the lungs. There is a microscopic brush in the nose. This brush contains small particles which kill the bacteria that travel through the air and enter the nose.

Due to these, a Muslim is saved from many diseases of the nose.

Washing the face:-
A European doctor wrote a thesis called ‘Eye, water, and Health’. In his thesis, he encouraged people to wash their eyes many times a day, to avoid dangerous diseases. A member of the American Council for beauty, ‘Beychar’ stated; “Muslims do not need any type of chemical lotions as they wash their face many times a day during Wuzu which safeguards them against many diseases.

Blindness
Physicians have researched that if one makes his/her eyebrows wet frequently then one can be protected from a dangerous disease like blindness.

Washing the Arms:-
There are three major veins in the elbow that are connected to the heart, liver and the brain. The elbow usually stays covered with clothing and if water and air do not reach these parts, one may suffer from mental problems. Also, by washing the arms including the hands, a link is created in between the person and the particles of light and the particles begin to flow. This action makes all the body parts strong.

Wiping the Head:-
There is a major vein in the body that lies between the back of the head and neck This vein has a connection with the spinal cord, the brain and the small veins spread in the body, when one wipes the back of his neck, passes through the Spinal cord, spread into the small veins and give strength to the various parts of the body. Also wiping the neck prevents one from fever and mental illness.

Washing the Feet:-
Washing feet during wuzu removes bacteria and dust. By washing feet according to sunnah, saves from lack of sleep, dryness of the brain, nervousness, and depression

Sugar Can Do More than Just Sweeten!images (7)

Besides been the material we love to taste the most, sugar can help out with plenty of other things, and is always worth having around the house. We’ve collected a few of these uses for you to learn about – you’ll never think of sugar as just a sweetener again!

Uses of Sugar:
1. Calming babies:images (6)

Studies in Pediatrics show that babies who have been given a solution containing one spoon of sugar and four glasses of water before being vaccinated reacted more calmly to shots than those who didn’t.

2. Treating wounds:

A pinch of sugar may help heal many types of wounds. Among them: Pressure wounds, ulcers and cuts. All you need to do is pour a little sugar on the wound and it will kill all the bacteria in the area and even relieve local chronic pain.

3. Treating a burnt tongueEat-Sugary-Foods3

sipping too quickly from a scolding coffee cup, biting into a steaming pizza, it’s easy to burn your tongue, and that feeling isn’t very pleasant. In order to alleviate this uncomfortable feeling, put a little sugar on the burnt area.

4. Body peeling:115

Due to its rough texture, sugar can be used as a perfect peeling agent and offer great aid in your grooming routine. A simple peel can be made by mixing sugar with different kinds of oil (Canola, almond, jojoba or olive), as well as add essential oils to the mix or some vanilla abstract to upgrade the scent. An addition of vitamins in the form of a banana will help, and you can mash it and combine with three spoons of sugar and one of olive oil to create the peeling.

5. Cleaning dirty hands:images (4)

When the hands are very dirty (from color or grease, for instance), you can use sugar to remove the hard stains. The sugar will be added to soap foam and give it a good rub.

6. Nourishing the lips:chapped-lips-for-winter

Mixing a little jojoba oil with olive oil with a drop of sugar powder and the mint or vanilla extract can create a natural moisturizing cream that’s both intensive and extremely efficient at nourishing your lips. Smear some of it on your lips and gently rub.

Also, if you want your lips to look better with lipstick on, just put a nice amount of sugar on the lips and allow it to absorb for several minutes.

7. Terminating pests:pcc-3923184244804226132-cartoon-sprayer-man_r

If the roots of your garden plants are full of worms, you’ll probably be happy to find out they can be killed using sugar. Bury 5 kilos of sugar for each 250 meter square of land, and wait patiently – the sugar will naturally kill all the worms.
Sugar can also be used to capture and kill other pests. To catch annoying flies, create a mixture of equal amounts of honey, sugar and water and boil it in a pot while stirring. Then take a square of sticky paper and create a hole on one end. Pour the mixture, after it cools, on the sticky side of the square and hang it on the wall with a string. The flies will go for the honey and stick to your smart trap.
To get rid of cockroaches, put equal amounts of sugar and baking powder near their hideouts. The sugar will draw them in while the baking powder will kill them.

8. Nourishing the roots of your flowers:ch-43-lecture-4-638.jpg

To give a better look to your home flower patch, you can use three teaspoons of sugar with two tablespoons of white vinegar for each liter of water we give them. The sugar will help nourish the stems while the vinegar will prevent bacteria from growing.

9. Cleaning grass stains:491cfdde9114d9a6eba8f3c9efcad2eeacbd079e

Make a mixture from hot water and sugar and smear on clothes with grass stains. Allow it to soak into the clothes for about an hour or a bit more (depending on how covered it is in the stains), and then put in the laundry as usual.

10. Keeping food fresh:f9e879b0dabb91c621789f498f963608

If you put a cake or cookies in a sealed container in which a few sugar cubes are places, they will keep fresh for longer. Same goes for cheese.

Strong and powerful garlic has dozens of health and household uses – some of which may seem pretty unusual. While garlic is an important ally for natural health (you may be familiar with the fact that garlic has the ability to increase immunity, banish colds and is a recognized broad-spectrum antibiotic), its functions extend beyond these common uses. Check out these 14 unusual and strange alternative uses for garlic

  1. A Great Aid for Athlete’s Foot
Being a potent, natural antifungal, garlic is ideal for treating fungal infections like irritating and itchy athlete’s foot. Just add a couple of crushed garlic cloves to warm water in a foot bath and soak the affected area for 30 minutes.

  2. Helps in Preventing Gas

While for some, garlic causes uncomfortable stomach-distending gas, due to its high sulfur content, for others it can reportedly ease it. In order to maintain intestinal health though, you would need to consume it on a regular basis. Garlic can kill harmful intestinal bacteria, promoting the growth of beneficial flora, making digestion smoother.
  1. Combats Hair Loss
Before resorting to a more drastic measure, if you are going bald, give garlic a shot. It is believed that massaging the scalp with garlic oil stimulates hair growth.

  2. Apply it to Breakouts of Acne

Though it will make your skin smell, the antibacterial properties of garlic will help lessen the appearance of acne, including those deep acne cysts that can otherwise be difficult to treat. Just slice open a clove of raw, fresh garlic and apply it to breakouts.

  3. Aids in Weight Loss
Though you cannot count on garlic to help you lose a lot of weight, research shows that garlic has potential for aiding weight loss. Compounds found in garlic send signals of satiety to your brain, which will actually help you to feel full faster. It also boosts metabolic function, enabling you to burn more calories.

  4. Use it as a Natural Pesticide
An all-natural garlic pesticide spray can be used to ward off pests like whiteflies, aphids, cabbage loppers and squash bugs. All you need to do is mince three garlic cloves and let them sit in two tablespoons of mineral oil for 24 hours. Then, strain out the garlic and add the oil, along with a teaspoon of liquid dish soap, to a pint of water in a spray bottle and spray on infested plants.

  5. Use it to Repel Mosquitoes
You need not use DEET and other potentially toxic chemicals to ward off mosquitoes, garlic can work wonders. To prepare a mosquito spray, let a few minced cloves of garlic infuse in an ounce of mineral oil for 24 hours. Strain and mix the garlic scented oil with two cups of water and one teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. If necessary, strain again and pour into a spray bottle.

  6. Use it as a Natural Adhesive to Repair Glass
Though it may not work on major jobs, garlic juice can be used to fill in hairline cracks in glass and hold them together. Simply crush a clove of garlic and rub its sticky, viscous juice in the cracks and wipe away the excess.

  7. Kills Bacteria that Causes Ear Infection
This common folk remedy has been used for centuries. Simply crush a clove of garlic and place it in a teaspoon of hot olive oil for five minutes. Strain, allow cooling and dripping a few drops at a time into your ear canal. Alternatively, you can purchase garlic oil from natural health food stores.

  8. Helps Remove Splinters
Splinters are painful to remove and may at times dig a little too deep into the skin to pull out, but this odd trick can really work. Place a thin slice over the splinter, keeping it on with a bandage. The garlic should help the splinter work its way out of the skin within hours.

  9. Use it to Relieve Psoriasis
Garlic’s anti-inflammatory properties could ease or even prevent persistent tightness and itching of psoriasis. Active compounds in garlic interact with arachidonic acid, an omega fatty acid in the skin linked to psoriasis. You may also rub garlic oil on the affected areas once or twice per day.

  1. Use it as a Cough Syrup
Garlic can be used as a cough syrup to ease inflammation in the throat and clear up excess mucus. Add raw, minced garlic in hot water, straining it after five minutes and drinking the liquid as tea. To make it more palatable, add ginger and honey.

  2. Garlic makes for a Fantastic Road De-icier
Come winter, many towns de-ice their roads. Ankeny, Iowa smelled awfully savory in 2008 when winter transportation crews spread garlic salt on the streets in advance of snowstorms. The salt, donated by a local spice producer, was apparently deemed unfit for human consumption.

  3. Kills Intestinal Parasites

Many alternative health practitioners advise using raw garlic to expel intestinal parasites. Consumed in quantities of about three cloves per day may help clear nasty organisms out of the digestive tract. It is recommended as part of a cleansing diet that also includes raw honey, lemon juice, pumpkin seeds, carrots and beets.

Coffee
The story goes that an Arab named Khalid was tending his goats in the Kaffa region of southern Ethiopia, when he noticed his animals became livelier after eating a certain berry. He boiled the berries to make the first coffee. Certainly the first record of the drink is of beans exported from Ethiopia to Yemen where Sufis drank it to stay awake all night to pray on special occasions. By the late 15th century it had arrived in Mecca and Turkey from where it made its way to Venice in 1645. It was brought to England in 1650 by a Turk named Pasqua Rosee who opened the first coffee house in Lombard Street in the City of London.

The Arabic qahwa became the Turkish kahve then the Italian caffé and then English coffee

A woman is a very unique, precious creation of Almighty. God made her delicate, fragile and beautiful like a flower. Even a slight heat wave of grief withers her blowing apart her like daisy, but, on the other hand she is patient and can endure the torturous labor pains to give birth to another human being. She is blend of love, brevity, endurance, hatred, judgment and sacrifice. She can do anything, everything. What she needs is respect and love. She is a mother.

Mother is most valued relation. Hence valued beings are to be taken especial care of. The holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (p.b.u.h) respected women most. Precious things are covered and protected. That’s why women are preferred to pray separately and at home so no stranger sees their body movements or cast a bad eye on them. A woman only undresses herself before her husband only and that too in closed bedroom. Love making too is liked better in dark to avoid anyone else to see them. When a woman is so honored then why—————?

What can we women do? In life covering our body as much as possible but when the end comes like this A woman is naked in front of all Na Mehrams… (Strangers)
You know the dialysis without Fistula, for putting the IVP the patient’s lower body is exposed as it is usually done on the thigh……
If a lady has a heart related issue so in order to save life her upper body remains exposed, either for Angiography, Angioplasty or an open heart surgery? If she is goes towards a heart failure then for CPR, her chest is exposed……..
Think ladies wish that Female doctors should be there for the women so that their Hijab remains intact.
I am wonder about one thing, why do lady doctors leave the profession? Husbands are responsible……..or their domestic chores hold them back?

Girls should decide before taking up medical studies to be firm and dedicated to their profession to serve female patients in gynecology especially and if opt for specialization they should go for heart surgery  to respect self  and other women. Every field is open for women now but female doctors must take it seriously.

Everyone has his own perception. I don’t mean to offend anyone this is my personal  opinion.

Charpai literally means four legs—- char means four and pai means legs.
It’s a simple framed structure held together by the four vertical wooden parts and four horizontal parts by a simple ten on- mort ice joint.

It is a traditional wooden bed; consisting of a wooden frame bordering a set of knotted ropes. It is commonly used in the  subcontinent. In Punjabi and Saraiki languages, it is called a Manjaa or Manji and in Sindhi and Saraiki it is called a KhattKhatt

It is an object that is economical, friendly, simple and easy to carry and very suitable in a tropical country like Pakistan.

The gap that’s formed of this frame work is filled with the weave. The weave is mostly of coir & is easily available in Pakistani local market. But now-a-days metal and plastic versions are also accessible.
There are people specialized in this job. They buy the frame components and the rope from the market, come to your home with their own kit of tools required for the job and assemble it. The weave holds the frame together. Charpai is a culture in itself
Most of my memories of charpai are from the villages I have lived with my husband being in armed forces.  He was transferred to different places from urban to rural areas so en enjoyed all seasons, places and beautiful colors of life of my homeland.

The earliest memory goes back to my childhood days.  We had many charpoys in our home. When the charpai is new, the weave is tight. Because of its tightness we loved to jump over it like a trampoline and whenever our feet got stuck in the weave, it bruised, since the coir was new and rough hence we moaned.  If it gets loosened it is easy to tighten it again. it is good for health too as air passes through the holes and sweat doesn’t damages our skin

In summers especially charpoys were set in courtyard for each family member to enjoy fresh cool air at night. I loved to lay on it and count the stars. It was so peaceful, just lying down on it to feel the cool breeze passing and caressing the back under the charpai without any bed sheet spread on it.
Now, it’s moving from the villages to the urban areas. These can be seen at various theme restaurants.  Some people like to bring in the basics from their roots into the new lifestyle. When elite class uses anything it becomes fashion and its cost goes high too. So it’s gaining popularity and position in modern era also.

This piece of furniture inspired the London based designer couple Doshi and Levien to design a range of contemporary charpoys.

Photos will show how charpoys are used at different places
