Allah is aware of my those prayers,
I’ve never supplicated ever to Him
I put them only in my poetic rosary
I’m sure Allah will be touched
Once I recite my poems to Him
He! The one who’s more benevolent
More loving than seventy mothers;
The Creator, originator, the designer!
He knows even the hearts hush-hush
Allah is conscious of my prayers
He converses in my insightful poetry
Is it a firefly, a dew drop, a star or is it you
Seems a hope, a ray, we see in murkiness
Is it a fallacy or a prank of our providence?
We believe our prayers are being rewarded

Praise is to Allah. We bear witness that there is only one God who has no partners beside Him, and we bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
Praise is to Allah who blessed us with the guidance of His prophets and messengers. Praise is to Allah whose Mercy encompasses everything. Praise is to Allah who knows our needs and answers our calls and brings peace to our hearts.
Praise is to Allah who breathed into us of His Spirit and placed the light of His guidance in our inmost being. Whomever Allah guides, no one can misguide, and whomever Allah misguides, no one can guide. We put our trust in Allah and seek His forgiveness, aid, and support.
A man once came to the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and asked him about the hereafter. The Prophet asked him, “And what have you prepared for that time?” The man replied, “Nothing, except that I love Allah and I love you.” The Prophet (p.b.u.h) answered him, “You are with the ones you love.”
Dear friends the guidance of Islam is the guidance of love. The innate, natural and ancient religion that is Islam is the religion of love. The Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) came to guide us to love and to make clear the love that is at the core of all religions. Our purpose as human beings is to consciously manifest Allah’s love in our lives. This is the most significant meaning that can bring purpose to us and transform our lives. When we reflect upon the history of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the spread of his message we will realize that Islam could not have taken root in the world without the love that filled the heart of the Prophet and was clearly manifest in his way of relating and interacting with people that brought out their own deep and profound love for him. Without this mutual and abiding love, none of us would be here today. Without this love Islam would not have been possible.
Today, it seems that we too often hear and read much that is harsh and heartless about Islam and not enough that is loving and beautiful. There seems to be too many messages of prejudice, literalism, legalism, violence, and oppression. The superficiality, ugliness and darkness that are too prevalent in today’s Islamic discourse are nothing like what the Prophet brought us.
I would like to share with you part of the first sermon ever given by the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) in Medina. This is what he had to say to his companions,
Love that which Allah loves! Love Allah with all your hearts! Grow not weary of hearing the Word of Allah. Do not stop remembering Him. Do not let your hearts grow hard toward Him. For verily, Allah has preferred His Book above all of Creation
Indeed, Allah has endowed it with guidance to the best of deeds, and made it an example for the elect of His servants, and filled it with righteous discourse, and has made clear in it what is lawful and unlawful for you.
So, serve Allah alone, and associate with Him no other. Be ever conscious of Him. Be truthful to Allah in what you utter from your mouths. Let the Spirit of Allah be the source of love between you. Amen

Surah Al-Baqara
The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers – We make no distinction between any of His messengers – and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying. (285) Allah tasketh not a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that which it hath earned, and against it (only) that which it hath deserved. Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk. (286)
Commentary
These are the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah. Great merits have been attributed to these two verses in authentic ahadith. The Holy Prophet Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam: Peace be upon him has said that one who recites these two verses during the night, they will be sufficient for him.
The noble Qur’an, towards the far end, teaches Muslims to make a special du’a or prayer in which forgiveness has been sought on commission of some act because of forgetfulness or neglect or mistake. It was said: Our Lord, do not hold us accountable, if we forget or make a mistake.
In short, Allah Almighty bestowed His best when He promised the acceptance of all these prayers through His Rasul (Prophet), the last among the prophets, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
Sweeter than a kiss— Tears turning to bliss
It was wintry November day of 1999. All family members were very tense. Every one exchanged looks of doubt and fear with each other. Hearts prayed dearly. Restless I was. No one knew what to do. Sadia my daughter was in labor room from morning. She had lost her twins (healthy sons) just before and after their delivery along with three miscarriages. Every time it was a son. This was fourth time. So all of us were dumbfounded.
Every time the nurses brought a baby out of the labor room, we rushed in hope and fear to see. But hours went by and we waited and waited. My limbs were frozen of nervousness and anxiety. I was worried more about my daughter. The daughter who is very long-suffering, serene and uncomplaining was in a state of uneasiness and anxiety in labor room.
I very ardently prayed that Allah can take my life away but give my daughter a healthy normal baby. Just then a nurse came out of the room driving a baby in a covered trolley. My younger daughter ran following her to the nursery. It was our baby boy J alive, healthy and normal——–God granted our wish, being most kind and beneficent!
My daughter was fine too by the grace of Allah. It was her second operation. now she is mother of one son and one pretty daughter. A complete family ! All praise is to Almighty Allah
When she was shifted to her room we all were smiles and tears at the same time with gratitude and joy.
He’s now 14 years old. Hammad is a very modest well mannered boy. May he live healthy successful life amen

On the other hand the passengers were curious to know the reason of this redundant stoppage of the train. Some popped out their necks from their windows to see the reason. But it was pitch dark and foggy so none could understand. Some thought burglars broke into the train. Loads of rumors spread among the passengers. One of the passengers who were looking out of the window saw Sadiq Hussein with a torch so he thinking it was the guard asked him, “What’s wrong Sir?” Why is the train not moving? Aren’t we getting late? Moreover we can’t see any station close by or any reason of this halt.” Sadiq Hussein was already troubled so he in firm and sternly voice asked the passenger to better shut his window. The passenger felt something weird in his tone so instantly he closed his window. Within no time Sadiq Hussein got on board and accelerating the speed of the train covered time lost. Hence was able to reach station on exact time. The moment the train came to a halt, Ashraf Ahmed got down the train shivering with freezing cold. The train stopped there for ten minutes. Ashraf desperately wanted to sip a hot cup of tea. So he hurried towards the tea stall. After Ashraf descended the tomcat also jumped down. But the tomcat did not land on the platform. He vanished. And a tall strong sturdy man wrapped in a blanket was seen walking on the platform. Some of the passengers also went to tea stall to kill the chill. Some opted for peanuts and chips etc. That strange man looked aimlessly here and there. He saw a compartment which was open. He and got into it. It seemed as if he was looking for that particular compartment. He looked around then he sat on the floor with his face hidden in the blanket. Some part of his face and nose was visible only. He seemed to a labor from his appearance so no passenger took any notice of him. The compartment next to the one he tomcat sat in was reserved for a group of people going for a wedding ceremony. Number of people tried to get into that compartment but they were all held back as it was reserved. The people in that bogie were divided into groups of friends. Each group enjoyed chatting singing and playing indoor games. It was decided that no one will sleep that night. And whoever tried to sleep was compelled to be awake and enjoy the company and party. Girls played the drums so the drum beats didn’t let anyone sleep peacefully. They were having great fun together. A boy was on duty to check if anyone was sleeping and report. The elder and aged members like bride groom’s uncles and aunts were in a separate section of that compartment. Tales and life stories and experiences were shared among them. One of them suggested sharing any mind-boggling experience with any mystic being or jinn. Furqan Mamu was the first to share not one only but two genuine incidents. He said he is the eye witness of those events. Akbar the groom overheard their talk. He was very fond of such stories. So when he heard that elders were sharing stories of jinns he left the young world and sat with elders. He asked Furqan Mamu, “Mamu have you seen jinns?” Furqan Mamu told Akbar that he has not seen them but heard their voices too. Furqan Mamu started, “I was in Aligarh and was about fourteen years of age. There was a pious old man named Sufi Amjad Hussein in our locality. He used to wake up people for morning prayers. He knocked every door with his staff calling the owner by name loudly asking him to wake up. He didn’t move forward unless someone answered back to him that they are all awake. He was well aware of those who prayed regularly. Those who were not practicing Muslims got irritated but out of respect didn’t mind and covering their heads inside their quilts slept again. . Sufi Amjad Hussein faced trouble in waking up Dr.Tariq for Dr. Tariq loved sleeping where ever and whenever he got a chance to sleep. He could easily go to sleep while sitting, while checking the pulse rate of his patients. Patient thought that doctor is too concerned about his health. He didn’t realize that Dr.Tariq felt snoozing. It was only known when his hands dropped from the patient’s pulse and when he started snoring. His snoring echoed in the street. to be continued
