The death itself brought news of life for me

I’m a vanishing lamp, death is infinity for me

No one pleased me and brought joy in my life

Why weep now, when I no longer breathe life

I’m curbed to a corner engulfed in my distress

Almighty nurtures me in my bliss and distress

O the pious worshiper! Garden of Eden for you

Hence being a sinner; woe of hell for me though

I would lighten as a candle if flourished brightly

But the ambiance wasn’t in my support actually

Every heart and soul wishes for the same for me

If the mortal turns to dust, it’ll be infinity for me

Mortal has magnetic charm towards dust Anis

Karbala is for me! I’ve to bear it with endurance

All the night long where a sad lamp flickers
Is such a dwelling on the way of blowy airs;
She would ardently love me; so to leave later
I was well aware of this skillfulness of hers
She has deserted me at a situation where
When I forget her, her memory appears
So Mohsin, I couldn’t sleep calmly any night
As she sometimes comes on the roof at night
………………………………….
Tamam shab jahan jalta hai ik udas diya
Hawa ki rahon main ik aaisa ghar bhi aata hai
Woh mujhe toot ke chahay ga chor jaye ga
Mujhe khabar thi usay yeh hunar bhi aata hai
Wafa ki konsi manzil pe choda hai us ne
Ke woh yaad hamain bhool ker bhi aata hai
Isi liye main kisi shab na so saka “MOHSIN”
Woh maahtab kabhi baam per bhi tu aata hai
(By Mohsin Naqvi)

SHAWL

Violent winds though widespread in the air

The lamp is yet restoring its flame in the air;

It’s either meeting or getting ruined in love

I have thus sheltered moments of my grief;

There’s ecstasy and love all around, in the air

Who’s flying her lively apparel in the air?

The enjoyable days not assured to prolong

As it’s never temperance at least in love;

A flower has blossomed in budding spring

As if you’ve placed thy cheek on the palm;

May it be our friends, beloved or divinity!

All make false promises to us, the innocent;

 Loveland is said to be so charismatic Faraz

Who started this malice of meet and detach;

Ahmad Faraz

Agarche zor hawaaon ne daal rakha hai,
Magar charaagh ne lau ko sambhaal rakha hai,

Mohabton main to milna hai ya ujad jaana,
Mizaaj-e-ishq main kab etidaal rakha hai,

Bhale dinon ka bharosa hi kya rahen na rahe,
So maine rishta-e-gham ko bahaal rakha hai,

Bhari bahaar main ik shaakh pr khilaa hai gulaab,
Ke jaise tu ne hatheli pe gaal rakha hai,

Faraz ishq ki duniya to khuubsurat thi,
Yeh kis ne fitna e hijr o visaal rakha hai.

Spring breeze came to ask me

Who did chain up your feet?

You met once and never met again,

Thy remembrance, revisit over again;

See, the effect of my beloved’s thought,

Solitude now appears to be festivity;

A teardrop is akin to, my being flowing,

Deeper than the ocean is my serenity

It’s the dark spot where the wind came

Number of times, to light the lamp;

Neither had you said anything to me nor I,

Then what did the silence say repeatedly?

Of losing loveliness and liveliness of spring,

The ruthlessness of autumn overshadowed

ScreenShot2013-05-02at210306_zpsa86b526fOnce there lived a blind man in a small town. He always carried a lighted lamp in his hand whenever he went out at night.

On one dark night he was going with his lighted lamp in his hand. A group of men were passing that way.

They saw the blind man and made fun of him. They said,” O Blind man why do you carry the lighted lamp. You are blind and cannot see anything?

The blind man politely said, “This lamp is not for me, but for you people who have eyes. You may not see a blind man coming and push him. They felt ashamed and begged pardon.

Think twice before you speak.
