 I don’t show myself at my work. I remain hidden so that people don’t recognize me. I never gave anything to anyone myself but through the doctors or the nurses. My GP wanted me to Visit the Civil hospital so that people know me but I choose to remain hidden.

Those who are new to this page…… To all those who are new to this page there is information on what we do & what we are aimed at…….. Do inform people about this page as someone might get help through you…….. This page is dedicated to serve & guide the family members of patients having Alzheimer & Dementia. How to cope up with them at home? Not professionally but as a family. Though I am a Sonologist, by study & have a deep insight of Medicine but this was quite different for me. What I myself learnt over the years dealing with patients at home, that every patient is different from the other, has different ways to deal with & different reactions. But Gender has nothing to do with it. So while I was helping from my own personal id, we thought to have a page so that more people can access it. Please invite friends to like my page as it is purely to serve humanity. In the Subcontinent there is a need of awareness. Don’t take things as in old age everyone goes crazy…….Wrong attitude. This is a Psychological disorder & mostly Genetic. Help is needed…… Plus as the professional help is too expensive so either such families leave their patients, who need their family the most in this phase in Pakistan, The Old Homes, which are nothing like those in the West. But more like the places which are the so called mad houses. Those parents or any uncles & aunts you see having this problem, I request you to handle them with care. You might end up like this when you get old. Remember, what goes around turns around too. Help your elders now, maybe your young ones take you as an example & take good care of you when you are old…… Psychological disorders are not madness at all. They can be dealt with, if only we have a soft heart or, some patience especially for those who cannot afford private nursing. So there are always things we can do ourselves.

You won’t find any pictures of mine doing any of this work as I am anonymous to those whom I help.

I am at home most of the time. But when the other day a dead body was not getting released for mere 500 rupees instead of asking someone to collect money from home I went to the hospital. I banged the head of the administrator. Still the family did not know that I paid the money. I choose to do it that way. I don’t want to disclose my identity to those I help as I am usually present at the hospital & don’t want people to touch my feet as once someone did or act as if I am a saint or something. Hope you understand.

Even the person you sent me did not see me as I sent the money through my maid as my son was not present.

My BP remains extremely low & I have a dumping syndrome. My random blood sugar remains low & with time both getting lower. My neuro physician has told me try not to get unconscious as I might end up in a coma from which chances of revival are less. So live my life busy & full as when the time comes. Plus I do take care of myself as my doctor advice me. Migraines are my biggest menace but trying to overcome that too as I have learnt to live with my medical condition.

In the hospital even in my presence I never permit anyone to disclose the identity of who helped.

Flaxseed is the new wonder food.

Recent studies have suggested that flaxseed may have a protective effect against breast cancer, prostate cancer, diabetes, heart disease and colon cancer. At least two of the components in flaxseed seem to contribute, says Kelley C. Fitzpatrick, director of health and nutrition with the Flax Council of Canada.

Flax seed plays three primary roles in nutrition.

 First, the seed, powdered or ground is rich in dietary fiber, both soluble and insoluble, making it a useful digestive aid.

Second, it is one of the best sources of, a nutrient with antioxidant properties.

Third, the seed contains a high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids. These fats are termed “essential” because they are necessary for survival yet cannot be produced by the body.

Care needs to be taken with storage, as flaxseeds are an unsaturated fat. Unless they’re stored in a sealed container in a cool place, they can go rotten quickly. Flaxseeds, whether ground or whole, have very high fiber content, so if you’re introducing them into your diet, it’s best to start slowly and increase the levels gradually to avoid cramping, bloating or an excessive laxative effect.

When not to take them

People with irritable bowel syndrome should speak to their doctor before consuming flaxseeds due to their high fiber levels. Those with a seizure disorder should avoid flaxseed supplements as omega-3 supplements may induce seizures. Blood-thinning medications, blood sugar-lowering medications, topical steroids, cholesterol-lowering medications and anti-inflammatory can all be affected by flaxseeds, so speak to your doctor before taking supplements or increasing dietary levels of flaxseeds.

How to eat them

The seeds can be sprinkled on fruit, veggies, cereal, salads and yogurt and also in baking or to bulk out meat dishes.  This way one increases omega-3 levels and fiber intake at the same time. Ground seeds are easily digested. Flaxseed oil shouldn’t be used for cooking since it is not stable at high temperatures.

  13. Red union can also remove worms in the stomach and cure hemorrhoids. How to make it as a purgative of a red onion that has been heated around for about 3 minutes in 1 liter of water. In this case, use red onion whose medium or small size that can be inserted into the anus.
  14. Inhaling aroma of red onion to treat dizziness and fainting. Because it smells so piercing that can stimulate the circulatory and respiratory functions. Similarly, nerve functions. Thus, red onions can be used as first aid rather than having to use ammonia.

 

The benefits of honey and the magic mixture of honey and cinnamon is known for hundreds of years for their miraculous curing power. A paste should be made from one part honey and two parts of luke warm water added with a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. This paste should be massaged on the itching part of the body and the pain should recede within fifteen minutes in most cases.

2.                Honey and Cinnamon for preventing Hair Loss

For hair loss or baldness, patients may apply a paste made out of hot olive oil, one tablespoon of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder. This should be applied before they take bath and keep it for approximately 15 minutes. After that they can wash it off with Luke warm water.

 

3. Honey and Cinnamon is excellent for Toothache

A paste made of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey when applied on the aching tooth (may be done 3 times a day) reduces the pain within a matter of 15 minutes.

4.  Honey and Cinnamon can help in Reducing Cholesterol

Take two tablespoons of honey, three teaspoons of cinnamon powder and mix in 16 ounces of tea, when given to a cholesterol patient, reduces the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. Pure honey is also sometimes used with food to check cholesterol.

·5. Honey and Cinnamon benefits include Curing Colds

For those who are suffering from common or severe colds, should take one tablespoon of luke warm honey with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the sinuses.

6. Honey and Cinnamon Cures Infertility

Various ancient medical streams like Ayurveda and Yunani have been using honey for years in medicine to strengthen the semen of men. Two tablespoons of honey before they go to sleep is what is prescribed by many experienced practitioners. This combination will work wonders for women as well. In China , Japan and other Asian countries, if the women who do not conceive, and or if their uterus is weak, then they have been prescribed cinnamon powder. Ancient cultures used Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder for longevity. 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of cinnamon powder and 3 cups of water are boiled to make this tea. The prescribed amount is to drink 1/4 cup, 3 times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and slows down old age.

10. Honey and Cinnamon for Weight Loss

Drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup water first thing in the morning (empty stomach). If taken regularly it reduces the weight of even the most overweight person. Also drinking of this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body, even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

Depends on what type of allergy for which you are using honey for. Honey might not work for all allergies and for all people. Typically 2 teaspoons of honey combined with ginger and cinnamon will help with general allergies.

If you don’t have any physical ailments then the answer to the question “how much honey a day” is pretty standard for adults. It is 1-2 teaspoons of honey. It is advisable to consult your doctor before starting on any such self medication. But 1-2 teaspoons of honey should not harm you.

3. How much honey for cough

For children and toddlers having cough, it should be 1 tea spoon of honey mixed with luke warm water and cinnamon. Gargle with luke warm water and a pinch of salt. Adults can have 2 teaspoons

 SPICES FOR ALL DISEASES


COLDS
Mix a gram of dalchini/cinnamon powder with a teaspoon of honey to** cure cold.  Prepare a cup of tea to which you should add ginger, clove, bay leaf and black pepper… This should be consumed twice a day.. Reduce the   intake as the cold disappears. 

GINGER FOR COLDS
Ginger tea is very good to cure cold. Preparation of tea: cut ginger into small pieces and boil it with water, boil it a few times and then add sugar to sweeten and milk to taste, and drink it hot.

DRY COUGHS
Add a gram of turmeric (haldi) powder to a teaspoon of honey for curing dry cough. Also chew a cardamom for a long time. 

BLOCKED NOSE
For blocked nose or to relieve congestion, take a table spoon of crushed carom seeds (ajwain) and tie it in a cloth and inhale it.


AJWAIN/AJMO FOR ASTHMA*
*Boil ajwain in water and inhale the steam.

CURE FOR BACKACHE
Rub ginger paste on the backache to get relief.

GARLIC FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE**
Have 1-2 pod garlic (lasan) first thing in the morning with water *

HONEY AND GINGER FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Mix 1 table spoon and 1 table spoon ginger (adrak) juice, *1 table spoon of crushed cumin seeds (jeera), and have it twice daily.

MIGRAINE
For the cure of migraine or acute cold in the head; boil a tablespoon of pepper powder, and a pinch of turmeric in a cup of milk, and have it daily for a few couple of days. 

BITTER GOURD/KARELA IS GOOD
A tablespoon of amla juice mixed with a cup of fresh bitter gourd (karela) juice and taken daily for 2 months reduces blood sugar.

TURMERIC: CURE FOR INJURIES
For any cut or wound, apply turmeric powder to the injured portion to stop the bleeding. It also works as an antiseptic. You can tie a bandage after applying haldi/turmeric.

CRAMPS
You must do a self-massage using mustard oil every morning.  Just take a little oil between your palms and rub it all over your body. Then take a shower. This is especially beneficial during winter. You could also mix a little mustard powder with water to make a paste and apply this on your palms and soles of your feet.

HEADACHES
If you have a regular migraine problem include five almonds along with hot milk in your daily diet. You could also have a gram of black pepper along with honey or milk, twice or thrice a day. Make an almond paste by rubbing wet almonds against a stone. This can be applied to forehead.

Eat an apple with a little salt on an empty stomach everyday and see its wonderful effects. OR when headache is caused by cold winds, cinnamon works best in curing headache. Make a paste of cinnamon by mixing in water and apply it all over your forehead *

TURMERIC FOR ARTHRITIS
Turmeric can be used in treating arthritis due to its anti-inflammatory property. Turmeric can be taken as a drink other than adding to dishes to help prevent all problems. Use one teaspoon of turmeric powder per cup of warm milk every day. It is also used as a paste for local action.

GOOD FOR THE HEART

GOOD FOR INDIGESTION *

HONEY IS  GOOD CURE FOR ALL DISEASES
Mix 1 teaspoon honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon powder and have it at night.

HICCUPS
Take a warm slice of lemon and sprinkle salt, sugar and black pepper on it. The lemon should be eaten until the hiccups stop. *

HIGH BLOOD CHOLESTEROL
In 1 glass of water, add 2 tbsps of coriander/dhania seeds and bring to a boil. Let the decoction cool for some time and then strain. Drink this mixture two times in a day. **OR Sunflower seeds are extremely beneficial, as they contain linoleic acid that helps in reducing the cholesterol deposits on the walls of arteries.*

PILES
Radish juice should be taken twice a day, once in the morning and then later in the night. Initially drink about? Cup of radish juice and then gradually increase it to? Cup. OR Soak 3-4 figs in a glass of water. Keep it overnight. Consume the figs on an empty stomach, the next day in the morning

VOMITING
Take 2 cardamoms/elachi and roast them on a dry pan (tava). Powder the cardamoms and thereafter add a tsp of honey in it. Consume it frequently. It serves as a fabuloushome remedy for vomiting. OR In the mixture of 1 tsp of mint juice and 1 tsp limejuice, add 1 tsp of ginger juice and 1 tsp honey. Drink this mixture to prevent vomiting. *

*OR Limejuice is an effective remedy for vomiting. Take a glass of chilled limejuice and sip slowly. To prevent vomiting, drink ginger tea. OR In 1 glass water, add some honey and drink sip by sip. *

WARTS
Apply castor oil daily over the problematic area. Continue for several months. OR Apply milky juice of fresh and barely-ripe figs a number of times a day. Continue for two weeks. OR Rub cut raw potatoes on the affected area several times daily. Continue for at least two weeks. *


*OR Rub cut onions on the warts to stimulate the circulation of blood. OR Apply milk from the cut end of dandelion over the warts 2-3 times a day. OR Apply oil extracted from the shell of the cashew nut over the warts. OR Apply Papaya juice OR Apply Pineapple juice.*

URINARY TRACT INFECTION
Drink Cranberry juice. You can also add some apple juice for taste.


SINUSITIS
Mango serves as an effective home remedy for preventing the frequent attacks of sinus, as it is packed with loads of vitamin A. OR Another beneficial remedy consists of consuming pungent foods like onion and garlic, as a part of your daily meals. OR Fenugreek/methi leaves are considered valuable in curing sinusitis. In 250 ml water, boil 1 tsp of Fenugreek seeds and reduce it to half. This will help you to perspire, dispel toxicity and reduce the fever period. OR Tie a tsp of black cumin seeds in a thin cotton cloth and inhale.*

TONSILLITIS
Take a fresh lemon and squeeze it in a glass of water. Add 4 tsp of honey and tsp of salt in it. Drink it slowly sip by sip. OR Milk has proved beneficial in treating tonsillitis. In 1 glass of pure boiled milk, add a pinch of turmeric powder and pepper powder. Drink it every night for about 3 days.

SORE THROAT

Add a tea spoon of cumin seeds (jeera) and a few small pieces of dry ginger to a glass of boiling water. Simmer it for a few minutes, and then let it cool. Drink it twice daily. This will cure cold as well as sour throat.

                                         

LOKI (gourd)

Gourd (Loki) is a vegetable. Some are long in shape and some are round. It looks light green outside and white inside, It is bigger than cucumber but with softer skin and texture. It is quite watery. They grow on liana and shrubs. Gourds contain mineral salts, vitamins. They are easily digested. Sick people are advised to eat gourds. It removes constipation and thus makes the function of intestines normal.

Our respectable prophet Hazrat Muhammad sallallaho alaihewassalam loved to eat gourd. It purifies blood, maintains cholesterol and sugar level. Juice of gourds if taken early morning helps improve eye sight. It balances the immunity system because it helps all organs to work normally. It is more advantageous to eat in summer as it has soothing effect.

 

It is used in making different dishes like:

 

Raita: Loki boiled n mashed or grated raw mix with yogurt, mint leaves, chopped onions, salt and black pepper

 

Koftey: boiled Loki mashed and made balls cooked as curry

Cooked with mutton Loki IS very delicious and good for health 

 

Kheer:, grated Loki cooked with milk and sugar and sprinkled with chopped dry fruit makes it more tasty n beneficial.

 Loki Soup:

Take one Loki and remove skin and cut into pieces.   Add 1 glass of water. Add one tomato and salt, black pepper caraway seeds 1/4 of spoon. Cook in pressure cooker for 10 minutes. Mash it and strain. Add little bit of cream or butter before serving. Enjoy!

 

How to make Loki Juice:

The easiest way to make Loki Juice is to grate with home grater. Then put the grated Loki on tea strainer then squeeze it with big spoon or table spoon by putting pressure. Or instead of spoon squeeze it with clean hands. Collect the liquid in glass.

You can also add grounded black pepper or black salt to suit your taste. You can add honey or lemon to improve its taste. Don’t add sugar.

Just taste little bit before cooking. If it’s bitter don’t use it.
