He who preaches bigotry

is not one of us.

And not being one of us,

he may go ahead

and fight in the cause of bigotry.

He who dies for such a cause

is not one of us either

Hadith of Abu Dawud on the authority of Jubair ibn Mut’im

A sahabi ( friend of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) came to him and complained of of hunger and distress.Just then, Muhammad (p.b.u.h) had nothing in hand or in his home to feed him. He asked his friends if anyone would keep him ass a guest for the night on his (p.b.u.h) behalf. one of his friends agreed willingly to be  the guests host.

He then took that person to his home and instructed his wife; “Look here, this man is guest of Muhammad (p.b.u.h). We will entertain him as best as we can and wont spare anything in doing so” The wife replied; “By Allah! I have got no food in the house, except a very little——something just enough for the children.”

The Ansari or the host said: “You put the children to sleep without feeding them, while I sit with the guest over the small meal. When we start eating, put out the lamp pretending to set it right, so that the guest may not get aware of my not sharing the meal with him. He didn’t partake at all of the food, though his hands and jaws seemed and felt working all right”

This sacrifice  is true and sincere love for others

The scheme worked out as planned. The whole family slept hungry to enable the gust to eat his fill. It was this incident that Almighty revealed the ayah

meaning; They prefer others above themselves, even though poverty become their lot. Surah Al-Hashr ayah 9

Eunuchs always instigated me to know the truth, the facts about them. They always seemed to me, a weird and out of the world creation of almighty.  I remember that from childhood I was told to keep away from them. They were considered perilous beings. I saw those dancing singing clapping ogling making vulgar actions in functions to entertain guests and onlookers in public places. Their body language, funky gaudy stinky dresses, bold makeup, walking and talking style was much uncivilized.  Their appearance and behavior never make me dislike but initiated interest to know about the true face behind the made up one. I often returned their smiles secretly. I knew my elders would never appreciate

To speak truth, seek truth and write truth is my learning teaching and practice.

While going through the novel, about eunuchs, I learnt a lot about eunuchs. She has written it beautifully collecting details as much as she could about eunuchs. As she has quoted in her novel that she talked to them whenever got a chance.

But I wanted firsthand knowledge myself so I made friends with a eunuch. I asked him/her to share with me.  She came to my home and we had nice detailed chat. She’s a born eunuch. She is a very cool human being, talked to me nicely in a sophisticated manner.  She has very smooth clear skin, just like other girls. She doesn’t shave like other eunuchs I have seen. I saw her legs and arms. They were fair, shiny, very clean smooth hairless.

She went for pilgrimage to Makkah to perform Umrah with a group. She’s planning to go again

She’s a very pious soul. I wanted to be very sure if what she says is truth or not. Hence I asked her to recite holy verses from Holy Quran, which she did. She said she studied up to grade five only.  “Why did you leave school then?” she said told that eunuchs took her to their Guru secretly where she was formally registered as member of their community. Reema (her name) didn’t let her parents know about

I asked her; “How did the eunuchs realize that you are one of them?”

Reema; “The way I behaved in family functions and in public.”

“Dancing ogling and all these actions and body language is taught?”

Reema said; “No, it’s natural. I had three sisters born before I was born. We lived in Sakkur Sind. My father worked as a peon. We lived a poor life. Three brothers were born after me. I was misfit in the family”

“How and when did you come to Karachi?” I asked

“I came with eunuchs without informing my parents. In Karachi I became CHE-LA of new Guru”

“Tell me something interesting” I asked her to cheer up the mood.

She smiling and shyly said; “I fell in love with a young man.”  “Oh really?” I was inquisitive to know more so asked her to carry on with her love story.

“He also loved me. We lived for ten long years together. Then his parents got him married to a girl. The next day spending the night with his bride he asked me to discontinue relationship with him.  He didn’t want to spoil his married life. His words stabbed me so brutally that I went without a word but got ill for many months.” Reema showed me his name tattooed on her left side of her chest. She said; “It’s been three years now that he’s married” she wept nonstop missing him. She complained as to why she and other eunuchs are born incomplete. No one loves them. They are to be enjoyed and ridiculed. She said; “We are as human as you all are. We have same emotions as you have. We feel the pain, cold, hot, sweet, sour, hunger, and thirst. Only a part of our body is missing. Is it our fault?”  I have all sympathy with them.

I asked her; “Do you live with your parents?” she replied; “No, my brothers’ wives don’t like me to stay with them. My father died. I take care of my mother’s needs. I got her treated in hospital and bore all expenses” “That’s very great of you Reema dear. Where do you live now? What’s your source of income?” she proudly said; “I live in one rented room all by self. I work hard (begging) to earn my bread and butter. I don’t cheat or rob. I fear God”

she went  leaving behind so many question for me——–

                                                    Allah is most kind and merciful

The_flame_of_wisdom

Almighty Allah created man and his mind with its purpose set on achieving knowledge, the most important of which is that Allah alone is the Creator and all the rest are worshippers (slaves). By worshipping anything other than Allah, man becomes enslaved to Satan, who is himself a creature and becomes harnessed to his own bias qualities.

Prophet Idris was one of the prophets.

When Prophet Idris alaihessalam got heartbroken like all other prophets, due to non believers’ immoral activities, he left them and disappeared for almost twenty years. There was no rain for very long time. Allah punished them with drought.

When animals and people died of hunger and the life became miserable, the people asked for forgiveness.  Allah being most merciful, sent back Idris to his people

Prophet Idris then begged Allah to forgive and to bring an end to drought. Allah granted his demand and the drought ended. There were heavy rains again. The land became alive and fertile once more.

The Learned Prophet

Prophet Idris alaihessalam was given wisdom in various fields of knowledge and the ability to create things that can make the human’s life easier For example, alphabets and writing, mathematics, astronomy, philosophy and etc. He was the first man who learnt to write with pen. He was the first man to show people how to measure weights and balance.  He taught them about the movements of planets.

He was the first man to make weapons for hunting and defense. He also taught people to stitch clothes with needle and thread.

Consequently he brought about a remarkable change in the moral and social life of the people.

Some sayings of Hazrat Idris

  1. Do not feel jealous of the prosperity of others for what they have, as they will only enjoy it for a short while.
  2. He who has unlimited desires, is deprived of the wealth of contentment.
  3. One should be sincere in acts of devotion
  4. It is an act of serious sin to take false oaths.
  5. Patience is a key to victory
  6. He who controls his passions is fortunate. Only a good act will be a living petition before Allah on the Day of Judgment
  7. One who is desirous of attaining perfection in knowledge should have no concern with immoral acts.
  8. Happy is he who looks at his own deeds and appoints them as pleaders to his Allah
  9. None can show better gratitude for Allah’s favors than he who shares them with others.
  10. He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it.
  11. The real joy of life is to have wisdom

 Once you switch to wood – you will never go back.

When I was a small girl my mother combed my hair with wooden comb or wooden brush. I had very thick shiny and rich black hair. Mother had to make two braids. Often ladies asked me if my hair were actual.

Mom oiled my hair and combed with wooden comb at night before I slept.

Then in morning she boiled and cooled natural herbs and washed my hair.

She said that main benefit of using of a wood comb is that it does not generate any static electricity like usual plastic combs do. Using of wooden combs also keep hair in good and healthy position.

It is well known that birch wood combs help to get rid of dandruff. Wooden combs gently massage the scalp and move natural oils through the hair. Massaging the scalp helps promote hair growth and stimulate acupressure points.

The combs do not finished with any varnish or oil so it is natural.

From the yogic perspective:

  1. Wood does not create static electricity, which causes a loss of the hair’s energy to the brain.
  2. If you comb your hair and scalp front to back, back to front, and then to the right and left several times, it will refresh you, no matter how long your hair is. All the tiredness of your day will be gone.
  3. For women, it is said that using this technique to comb your hair twice a day can help maintain youth, a healthy menstrual cycle, and good eyesight.
  4. Wooden bristles gently massage the scalp and move natural oils through the hair. This aids inblood circulation, excess sebum absorption and the removal hair impurities.
  5.  Massaging the scalp helps promote hair growth and stimulate acupressure points.
  6.  When exposed to a blow dryer, the brush stays cool because wood does not conduct heat. When hair is wet the wooden bristles glide easily through the tangles.
  7. Some wooden brushes and combs are naturally hypoallergenic.

Plastic combs and plastic brushes are harmful for hair and cause loss of hair too. Even shampoos having chemicals also damage hair and natural hair color.

so use wooden combs and keep your hair shiny and rich.

Hazrat Suleiman (A.S) was a prophet of Allah. Allah gave him the power to understand languages of all animals, jinns and persons.  His kingdom was the largest of all kingdoms until today. He ruled over all living things, land and sea.

He was a very judicious. He was also very kind and compassionate.

Everyone in his kingdom loved him.

It did not rain for a long time.  So there was no water to drink or food to eat. Animals and plants were dying of hunger. He got very concerned. Hence one day he decided to go with his group of animals and courtiers in search of water.

He crossed rivers, mountains and plains. There was a valley of Nimal where the ants lived.

The Queen Ant was a very diligent and responsible queen. Drought and famine had affected them as well.

She was there with all ants under the blue sky to pray for rain. The Queen Ant prayed to Allah: “O, Allah, You are so kind to us. You give us food to eat and water to drink. There is no rain so no food and no water.  I can’t bear to see my ants dying. Please Allah send rain to make our land fertile. Please forgive us. Amen.”

After she finished her prayers she heard the heavy thumping sound of elephants’ feet on the ground coming from far off. She at once realized that Hazrat Suleiman was coming with his people and animals. After a while they saw dust in the air.

She warned the ants: “Be careful!  Go quickly go into your holes at once.  Hazrat Suleiman is coming. He’s not coming to harm us but how will he know that we live here. You will be killed under heavy hooves and feet of elephants.”

Hazrat Suleiman heard the Queen.

Hazrat Suleiman (A.S) smiled to hear the Queen Ant’s words of concern.

He respected the Queen for taking care of life of her ants.

He said: “A ruler must take care of life and property like the Queen Ant.

Hazrat Suleiman said to his people: “Let’s go back. The ants have done our job. It will rain surely now.”

That was the moment of comfort

It tiptoed into chamber of my heart

Covered up   depressing still nights

Of whose smell, even hate boomed

Momentous eyes sparkled———–

It wasn’t a long journey

It wasn’t a heart’s wound;

That was the moment of comfort

 I was scattering bit by bit

Gleamed in urn of sorrows;

That all of a sudden, no one knows

How, he slid down in my beliefs

He wasn’t a long chastisement

It was, a drop of awareness

That moment was finer than eons,

That was the moment of comfort

What’s life–except for radiance?

What’s light—- just happiness?

This bliss dances on every leaf

In shadows of the valleys,

Hugging clouds’ boundaries

Flutters over milieu of peace;

It’s tickling in my heart now

                                       It’s the orange flaming ray;

Where radiance glow in eyes

There reunion is lovely joy;

Don’t be ashamed of yourself

This joy will enthrall you too

However murky may night be?

Night will be redundant at last

Life, in yearn for delight

Will rise with new fervor

Flouting barriers of tyranny

Will rise with a new dawn;

Life; in the way joy emerged

To give in its entire verve

In aspiration of its radiance

To prevail over darkness;

So what if we didn’t have dawn

Will leave behind us an aspiration;

For the way of upcoming winds

Will light the lamp of awareness!
