If you are beautiful, give proof of thy beauty
I’m unfortunate, brighten up my destiny!
Don’t give me joy that’s a reason for gloom
Give me joy that’s a reason for surplus gloom
And anything that holds all of your beauty
Or a word of admiration having some insight
Provide all charm of era’s gloom to thy sight
Or put together cruelty in an agreeable mold
I have no concern of Pharaoh’s bowl
I’m handful of dust, give me love’s bowl
O’ gentle gale! You touched her face, so beautiful!
When will I meet her; give me news, so delightful!
Ayaz chants true speech in this present time
Thus turn out the impolite of literary meeting

ye jabr ikhtiyaar ke saaNche meN Dhaal do
jaam-e-jahaaN’numa se mujhe kuch gharaz nahiN
maiN musht-e-khaak hooN, mujhe jaam-e-sifaal do
us roo-e-khush’jamaal se, mas ho ke aaii ho
aye dil’ruba hawa’o naveed-e-visaal do

Don’t hide behind the veil darling
I’m passionate to envision you;
Without you I am harebrained,
One and all ridicule and tease;
Unless loved one comforts me,
Until then I’ll keep on whimper;

Aimlessly get here and go away,
Come and meet, life evade astray;
Can’t even breathe without you,
I’m the nightingale of the garden;

With whom you talk and feel joy?

Ghoonghat ohle naan luk sajnaan,
Main mushtaq deedaar di haan.
Tere baajh deewani hoey,
Tokaan karde loq sabhoey.
Jay ka yaar kare diljooey,
Taan faryaad pukaar di haan.
Ghoonghat ohle.
…………….Muft vikaandi jaandi baandi,
Mil mahi jind ainween jaandi.
Ik dam hijar main nahin saahndi,
Bulbul main gulzaar di haan.

All the night long where a sad lamp flickers
Is such a dwelling on the way of blowy airs;
She would ardently love me; so to leave later
I was well aware of this skillfulness of hers
She has deserted me at a situation where
When I forget her, her memory appears
So Mohsin, I couldn’t sleep calmly any night
As she sometimes comes on the roof at night

Tamam shab jahan jalta hai ik udas diya
Hawa ki rahon main ik aaisa ghar bhi aata hai
Woh mujhe toot ke chahay ga chor jaye ga
Mujhe khabar thi usay yeh hunar bhi aata hai
Wafa ki konsi manzil pe choda hai us ne
Ke woh yaad hamain bhool ker bhi aata hai
Isi liye main kisi shab na so saka “MOHSIN”
Woh maahtab kabhi baam per bhi tu aata hai
